Dakshinavrati, literally meaning opening in the south, is a form of a shell that is used in Hindu spiritual practice for worshipping Lord Vishnu and Goddess Mahalakshmi. It’s not a blowing conch but is energized with divine mantras for happiness, health and wealth. Sourced from the sea, this shell is extremely sacred, pure, and is considered a form of the Lord himself.
Dakshinavrati and Vamvrati are the two major types of shells used in Hindu puja. While Vamvrati is commonly available everywhere, Dakshinavrati is very rare and is difficult to find an original piece. We have certified originals sourced from the Arabian Sea.
How to Use
After doing its Abhishek with panchamrit, light a lamp and incense, and put it in your safe/tijori or in your prayer place on a Friday, or Purnima or on Diwali.
